floor varnishing ?

just moved into new place -it has a wood floor in lounge 'but not real wood ..can i varnish it do u know 'as i want it to look darker color.....

A dark wood coloured polyurethane varnish should do the trick!

Hi Toffee in that case varnish may not stick to the flooring.
Best option, get a tiny tin of varnish and do a test area.

If you can try to find out exactly what the floor is made of, you may need some kind of primer before applying a varnish .

Yes, I agree with Meg, it will be difficult to get varnish to stay on laminate's shiny surface unless it's primed first but too much liquid and the laminate may start to separate, split.
Can't you put up with it as it is, toffee?

Polyurethane varnish will stick to most dry grease free surfaces Toffee, buy a small tin of it in a lighter colour and test an small area first.
