Re: Paddling Pool for Frogs

I know it isn't very big, but I just use the large pot plant saucers for my visiting toad.
They don't want deep, sheer sides, else they'll drown, and I can put several large saucers down in different places. Easy to tip out and keep clean as well.
Maybe not much of a swim, but certainly a nice paddle.

Re: Paddling Pool for Frogs

We used an old painting roller tray for years buried in the ground, most trays have a shallow end and a deep end, frogs went in the deep end and the birds used the shallow end for a wash and brush up.

Good idea Basser.
I suppose a seed tray (without the holes in ) would be much the same.

Re: Paddling Pool for Frogs

Apparently, a lot of people use an old plastic dog bed.

My plastic dog beds have holes in the base though, else the dog sweats too much, even with a mattress in there.
I suppose it would be much like us sleeping on plastic?

Re: Paddling Pool for Frogs

This has definitely got me thinking!
What great ideas

Before i got my garage re-roofed it had sunk so bad in places ALL the birds hereabouts used to bathe there!
...So now I have bird-bestowed guilt
