Re: Winter Fuel Allowance

My wife has hers but I have had nothing so far. Why they can't put the two in one envelope beats me, oh forgot it is another way of wasting tax payers money

Re: Winter Fuel Allowance

I just had a letter telling me that my Mother-in-Law will be sent £300 fuel allowance.

Being as she is in a Care Home how much more money are they wasting?

My wife spends hers on clothes

Re: Winter Fuel Allowance

I don't think I'll get it until I'm 67 when I get my pension. My millionaire sister gets it though, I doubt she even notices it.
If you don't qualify but are on certain benefits such as Dla you can claim Warm Home Discount on your electricity but you have to do it this month I think.

No Tessa you can't claim if your on DLA you have to be on pension credits, I'm on the top rate of DLA and was turned down because I do not receive any type of pension credit.

Re: Winter Fuel Allowance

I checked out the website, and this year it's for people born before ?? January 1953. I'm September 52, so qualify. Thought I would, as I've started my State Pension.

I presume I just wait to hear from them, do I?

How do you apply? Don't they write to you?
