Thank you everyone for your replies. I think I must have been brain dead when I started this thread..............or maybe just feeling opportunistic! I've seen these offers before and investigated the company............so why didn't I do it today???

I can't afford to put my money on anything high risk..........so I guess I'll stick to plodding along a nexttonothing%!

We once lost a lot of money when tempted by what appeared to be a good savings rate, a company called Barlow Clowes in the late eighties. We had just sold a small hotel and wanted a place to put our money until we found another property and our Accountant suggested Barlow Clowes, they folded within four weeks of our investment. Fortunately the government eventually compensated us.

I remember Icesave did this and look what happened there. I'll stick with Santander 123, suits my needs, is it any good to you Lindyloo?
