WIP dogs head

Thought I would try a dogs head it's harder than I thought .

Very good Muddy tell me what do you do with these clay sculptures, do you have to bake them in a kiln.

Spectacular work. I don't think there is anything more challenging than to sculpt. I adore the subject matter too!

This clay I am using is air drying so it just dries out its isn't fired . so when it's dry I just seal it with a little white glue mixed with water -of course this means it is fragile
You can get it cast with resin ( it looks like bronze ) it's very expensive but as yet I haven't done anything really worth casting .
Next time perhaps I shall use a different clay that can be fired.
This is only my sixth sculpture i don't have anywhere to put them so they live in the shed .

That's intersting to know Muddy
I used to go to pottery classes years ago and made little clay animals and they were fired .
I used to give them away to be sold at local fetes, they were always popular.
