You say you are a time served engineer. I've been in the engineering industry all my life, and we have always had a lack of good engineers. So, why have you found it so difficult to move on and get a good job?
If you lived closer to me Purwell, I'd genuinely get you an interview tomorrow despite your age. We are desperate for good engineers. Currently we have a guy who is 68 and on £38k per year basic. He can do £53k with voluntary o/t if he wishes (and he does).
Yes I take the pee sometimes, yes I can be a bit close to the mark. But, one thing I'm not is a nasty uncaring person.
