If a man can make it a crook can break it.

Re: Have you locked your car.

I hate the John Wayne cars and the owners who need to stand at a 10 yards distance and take aim at the vehicle. I often think if I had a car that awful I wouldnt want to be seen standing next to it.

Good old fashioned keys and locks are good enough for me.

Re: Have you locked your car.

I don't think my car even has a key hole and always lock it with the fob. Obviously, don't leave anything in sight and you'll be safer.
In rough areas, remove the wheels and lock them in the boot for extra safety.

Re: Have you locked your car.

I always lock mine with the key fob.

What I find amazing is that I have had the car for 14 years and the key fob battery is still the original.

Re. locking the wheels in the boot, I remember there is an estate in Bradford - Canterbury Estate - where motorists were advised not to even stop or they'd find someone removing their wheels.

Actually, when I was younger I used to walk through that estate on my way to school. Surprisingly, I'm still alive.

Re: Have you locked your car.

Hi

I work on the basis no self respecting car thief would be seen dead in my car.

Very few people lock their cars during the day here in the village, often see them open when they pop into the PO.

Re: Have you locked your car.

Just don't leave valuables in the car, simple really.

Sat Navs, dashcams are about the No 1 target. People who stick them in the glove compartment are frankly . . . stupid.

You can never stop thieves breaking into your car. So just don't leave anything in there.

Re: Have you locked your car.

I always lock the car using the fob but still check the doors to see if it has locked. So used to doing this with my old car that I still continue.

Mind you if someone wants to get into your car they will.

I don't think anyone would bother nicking my Rover 75. Bet joy riders wouldn't want to be seen in such a vehicle . Mind you I do have some tools in the boot come to think of it - I think anyway.
