Hahaha, nice one Longdogs, it gives mooning a hole new meaning......

Sorry guys, back to the topic.....

That's brilliant DWebb, keep the info coming.
We should start a perennial thread 'All things Astronomical' so we can look out for upcoming celestial activity....

Rather than Vaseline on your glasses I am wondering if it might be Saturn with it's rings you are seeing... as this is at 1am and it looks like Saturn and Mars are the two that are visible then with Jupiter disappearing off into the South West.

Next lot of sightings. There are some at more civilised hours this time, I've highlighted those ones. Times are for Birmingham.

Re: Seeing the International Space Station

Is anybody getting to see it at the moment? Last night was cloudy here but I did see it just after midnight Thursday morning.

Tonight should be ok, 10.46 for 5 minutes, might be a little bit low though. Even better one after midnight!

Won't see it here as it'll be cloudy again

Yes I got a good view of it last night at about 11:38pm saw it go right across the sky and it was impressive and bright.

Re: Seeing the International Space Station

I found it on the ‘SkyView ‘ app on my iPad earlier today. It was in the south east, just below the horizon. When I looked again a few minutes ago, it had disappeared.

Re: Seeing the International Space Station

Two excellent sightings tonight if you have clear skies....

11:29pm visible from first appearance for 10 minutes! Reaching its peak at 11:32pm, very bright as well at Mag -3.2

Even better one at 1:05am again visible for 10 mins with the peak at 1:10am, Mag -3.5

These timings for Sheffield but should be similar elsewhere
