The tapping works without the mantra chanting Morty.

If someone wants to chant away, good for them.

I taught it to my kids, useful to de stress before exams.

I chant sometimes. ... short pithy affirmations of few syllables.

I also do light finger tapping on my face .. and that has helped my sinuses. I've just never combined the two.
