Mammograms

I received my mammogram results today - all clear.
Phew, it's always a nice relief isn't it.

I thought they were ever so quick, as it was only done 6 days ago.

What age do they stop sending for you in your area ladies?

Re: Mammograms

My wife received her all clear this week too. They told her they were just testing some ladies randomly that had passed that age of testing. But after she had the test they said she would get a call again in two or three years.
Great news by the way Mups.

Re: Mammograms

Ladies, if you have any comments or questions regarding mammography, my first wife would very much appreciate it if you'd like to post them on here:

(I did mention this earlier on another thread, but I suppose many wouldn't have seen it.)

Re: Mammograms

I was sent an appointment but when I rang and told them I was 70 I was told that I had the choice of having it done.I declined but could ring for an appointment if I needed to. Glad that's done and dusted for me!

I agree I started due to my history of breast cancer at 38 if I had started earlier they would have caught it earlier.

that sounds about right Julie, all down to cost I suppose if they start screening earlier.

Re: Mammograms

You may be eligible for breast screening before the age of 50 if you have a higher-than-average risk of developing breast cancer i.e if you have a family history of breast cancer.

If you're over the age of 70, you'll stop receiving screening invitations, however, you're still eligible for screening and can arrange an appointment by contacting your local screening unit.
