HEALTH MESSAGE

As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don't really give a rat's ass. It's the tortoise life for me!
1. If walking/cycling is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat.
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.
4. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years.
And you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so.
I'm retired. Go around me! lol

Only a joke, but my dad ate, drank, smoked and lived till he was 81! So I really believe it is all in the genes that we inherit predict our health.

I agree with you Kath. My parents ate a lot of red meat, drank, smoked (at various times in their lives) and lived healthily eventually dying at 92 and 96. I rest my case.

Could'nt agree with you more. It's worry and stress that seems to do for most people. The Government are no help, sending out dire warnings about drinking, smoking, eating, sex, exercise etc. God god!, have you seen the zealots pounding down the road, bottle of water in hand, redfaced, out of breath, rushing home to two celery sticks and a banana? Obviously everyone has to take things in moderation, but just do what suits you basically.

I agree too Kath.
My parents too smoked, liked a drink (local club every weekend).
My father loved pork crackling and dripping. They both lived to 90.
I firmly believe it's genetic.

Very true Kath

and as I have said before I eat well and have no wish to forgo life's little pleasures to spend an extra few years in what might well be a nursing home.

Enjoy life while you can
