Sorry AC. it's sort of neo-Victorian with a hint of cyber, mostly brass goggles, corsets, bustles, top hats. We basically dress up like idiots and have fun! There are lots of over 50's into it, it's been going for decades but gradually changing.The code is "politeness" and we indulge in such gentle pursuits as tea -dueling, it becomes a way of life for some. Spiffing, splendid, huzzah and other such exclamations abound! It's world wide and getting more popular every year.

Thanks Twiz! My husband just said he did see in the paper about some Steampunks somewhere in Canada. The couple were dressed kinda kinky tho, in leather corsets, etc. Lol.

Some are a bit kinky, but most aren't, just very nice gentle folk. I think the one's in America are a bit more cyber-punk and like their leather, we're a bit more "Victorian"

Didn't an episode of the US TV crime series Castle (yummylishess guy, Nathan Fillion, loved him in Firefly) feature steam punk in an episode? I think it did.

Chatting to the younger members of the family I mentioned the over 50s dating and was met with horrified expressions one managed to get out seniors dating oh yukkk isn't it funny how youngsters think they have the monopoly on dating etc
