Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

One of my favourite actress's Sweetie, Sweaty Betty, boy she knew her stuff, who can forget that song "I'm sending a letter to Daddy..."
I had to slip up to the Post Office for me pension, something quite magic happens there every Friday, you go in, show the lovely girl behind the counter a card, she puts it in a machine, you sign your name on a plastic screen, then she hands you out 250 smackers in cash! Then she smiles at you and says "See you next week James" God where would you get it? this is a smashing' little country when the sun is shining and the cash is flowing, God bless the workers, where would we be without them.

Scribblers don't come and go, there is always a little piece of them here, lurking in the Crib.

Re: Leisurely Scribbles (part 5)

Don't forget Jane Marple and Marilyn's great rival Jane Russel.

Well named them traffic lights Pug.
Amber was never a colour I liked, although I think good quality amber beads look terrific on a silver haired lady wearing a white top, gives that rich confident Auntie look, remember Barbara Stawyck in that TV western series of the seventies, forget the name of it now.
I knew a chap who was a timekeeper in Guinness’s Brewery, he was a sort of amber colour, like an underdeveloped suntan, in the local they used to call him the clockwork orange, they called his missus Emma Peel.
Reminds me of this old song, “The Orange and the Green” it’s a bit of a laugh, he’s a few bars of it.

Once there was an Irishman, a Protestant was he*
My mother was a Catholic, from Kelsey town came she*
They were married in two churches, lived happily enough*
Until the day that I was born then things got rather tough*

CHORUS*
Oh, it was the biggest mix-up that you have ever seen*
My father he was Orange and my mother she was Green. and it goes on and on and on.
