Re: I've Noticed More People

To answer the original question:-

I cant say I have noticed people saying noo instead of new, but does it matter?
The whole point of using a language is is to communicate, in speech, with another! Local accents often make people say words differently to others, but it hasn't stopped people understanding each other.
When I speak in the French language, people understand me, even though my accent isn't good, but they certainly don't look down on me as being lower class.
I think you should be ashamed of yourself for suggesting that people who speak differently are usually lower class..... it certainly explained to me why many of the lovely members on this forum treat you with contempt

Well said Twink.

I said much the same on his thread about people not pronouncing 'Th' too.
