Re: NHS Malaise

By the way pretty much most of the GP practices in the UK are private companies. So if you want to see how the private system works look no further than your local practice.

They aren't proper private companies they are run by gps with no experience in business at all. Ours admit they have no idea what they are doing and just want to help patients,

Most practices now consist of several doctors and nurses
They have office managers to manage the administration .
I believe that most doctors know very well what they are doing.
No doubt they do like to help people that's the career they choose but it's also a very lucrative one .
Ever seen a poor GP ?

Yes, and if they actually were private companies they would refuse to deal with health tourists without prior guarantees of payment.

They are private contractors who are self-employed. Most also do some private work on the side. Maybe it's time for a different model?

Youre joking! GPs are usually on SIX figure salaries.

Re: NHS Malaise

I just checked my GPs site. They give average earnings per GP. But it's an opaque figure. You'd have to see the practice accounts to view the true picture.

Hi

The younger ones do not earn a fortune, when they become partners and buy in, their earnings shoot up.
