However, a 9mm "shotshell" is not a "true" shotgun round per se. They are a kinda nondescript round really, with the odd gun made to match. You can get them in .45 as well for example.
"Shotguns" are .410 and above. The most popular being 12 gauge. Mind you, some ladies like to use maybe 16 or 20g due to the lower recoil.
