The Cost of sending a letter

How much does it cost to send an international letter these days???

Couple of quid at most I hear you all reply, so why did the evil witch's letter cost us more than £1000.00 to have it personally delivered to Bruxelles???

Small cost in relation to the overall cost of Brexit.

It could hardly have been shoved in the post box. If the Belgian post is anything like ours, it would have ended up with a neighbour.

Do you know, in the last thirty odd years or so technology has moved along at a very rapid pace. Thirty odd years ago, there were such things as 'fax' machines which enabled letters to be scanned and transmitted almost instantly, then technology moved again and developed computers capable of talking to one another electronically via email instantly.

Given such technology transmits data at a fraction of the cost that these scumbags have cost us, why didn't she employ one or other of these technologies???

If the crazy unions of yesteryear were still in charge, the UK would definitely be up the creek without a paddle. I couldn't stand Maggie T, but give her her due, at least she put them in their place.

And what's that got to do with the profligate cost of sending a letter???

If you want to discuss the Trade unions and that evil witch Thatcher (phth, phth, phth), then start your own thread, don't try and hi-jack this one!!!

Actually it might be cheaper if the unions hadn't been beaten and we hadn't privatised everything, the profit that has to be creamed off the top of everything makes things more expensive.

Re: The Cost of sending a letter

We find it hard to find a post office these days, they are in the Pharmacy. I think it is about $1.00 to post a letter. We used to have red boxes on the streets where you could put your letters and they would be picked up by the postal worker, but I haven't seen one of those red boxes for a very long time...nor have I seen a Phone Booth.
