National bullying week

NATIONAL BULLYING WEEK: How To Tell If You’re Being A Bully
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entr...7e5e14a5ff?23t

I posted this in health because it does affect a persons health. The constant following and trying to argue with a person makes the person being followed feel pretty awful, tight chest, panic, not really wanting to go onto a forum or chat freely.

Re: National bullying week

Unfortunately the accusation of "bullying" can be irresponsible and overused, therefore undermining the real cases.

Bullying has no place in society neither do those that use it to stifle debate if their opinion is challenged.

"Bullying" will always exist as these accusations are too convenient like a lot of other labels used.

Re: National bullying week

Well the post is about bullying proper bullying. Not about accusations that are to shut down debate. But I do think bullying can be seen by many when they aren't feeling the best and someone still follows them round making them feel like they have only one way out. It's behoves to us all to be aware you can hurt people with words as well as physically. In some ways words last longer than a push or hit.

A 'happy place' helps.

I have a 'happy place' where I go, mediate and chant my one word positive reaffirmation mantra.

Numb....numb.....numb....numb....

A happy place does help, I often think if I hadn't had support here and at home I wouldn't have lived through the bullying I had at work. It was that bad I nearly made a bad decision.

Re: National bullying week

I think maybe some of us older ones probably never realised that they might have been bullied at work.Constant critisism by senior management or even Directors aimed at making you leave your job. It is not until afterwards that you suddenly realise what had been happening. Today you would have had a case for constructive dismissal ???but then it had never been heard of .
