Honesty and Police efficiency
This morning Mr Clumsy went to a local shopping centre. Heīd been gone about half an hour when I received a phone call from the Guardia Civil, whose location is approximately 20 minutes drive from us (on a quiet day). The Guardia asked for Mr Clumsy, I told them he wasnīt here but that I was his wife. ( I admit I was wondering what heīd been up to !). However Mr Clumsy had apparently dropped his wallet in the car park of the shopping centre, some honest person picked it up and handed in at Lidl. Lidl contacted the local police who went to Lidl, collected the wallet and took it to the Guardia Civil station at the place where they contacted me from.
We do have a local Guardia Civil station in our local town, but all things such as this are dealt with elsewhere. Everything in his wallet was intact, fortunately I make him keep phone numbers in it too. There canīt be anyone worse than Mr Clumsy for losing things, heīs hopeless with phone numbers, he rarely if ever uses a phone, heīs a bit deaf and canīt hear properly when on the phone. So at 4 p.m. he can go and pick up his wallet. He couldnīt go immediately because they deal with other things during the mornings, but thatīs okay.
Iīm just impressed that they called me so promptly and very
politely, telling me I was welcome and they were happy they could help.
