Swimfeeders has elucidated border control for you. The rest both of us know....
He didn't make the connection between border control and immigration either. He thought immigration was done where you show your passport.
You think the same - because you don't understand Schengen borders or anything else about them. If I remember rightly, you've never understood this even though I've explained it to you about 20 times already.

The problem for the UK being that those immigrants don't have passports. Don't you understand the implications?

They are entering illegally - don't you get it ?
We have ways to enter our country through the refugee/asylum seeker laws and also by our processes for coming through our borders.
If you travel to Italy, go through the EU and come across the channel by boat then it is not only a breach of the UN rules and the Dublin Agreement by EU countries but illegal immigration by the people in the dinghies as well.
The reason a lot of this is happening is because firstly we are having very calm waters at this time of year and the shipping lanes are almost empty because of COVID-19 so the dinghies aren't at risk of being run over. Once business goes back to normal, we will see a lot less of these illegal immigrants, with or without the French trafficking them into UK territorial waters.

Oh oh oh bread. The illegality is based upon the outcome of the proces determining whether they are entitle to refugee status. Till then it is in the hands of the officials.
