If not, it is likely to become murky again.
It is my experience that creating some sort of shade (I use a garden umbrella) on sunny days makes a lot of difference.
Has your pond cleared JBR? I haven't covered mine but it has cleared quite a bit, probably because the weather has been dull. Also, has your fish improved?

Yes, thanks, it's very clear now. You can see the gravel on the bottom. The umbrella worked!

I can't see the fish, or at least I can't see a fish with a black dorsal fin, so it's either recovered or it's secreted itself under a plant and joined the choir invisible.
I can't be sure because it's difficult to count them. The buggers won't sit still.

Thank you for your reply Longdogs. He had to postpone last week because of the torrential rain.
He's due in the morning now, I'll post what happens.
Hope he's good as very expensive, but because the pond is high and deep don't think I could do it properly myself.

Yes, I would be interested to know how it turns out. A pic perhaps?

I know what you mean. I only have ten at the moment but it's almost impossible to count them.

I have thought of a way to overcome this. Just take a picture, then count them!

The pond cleaner came yesterday, he was here two hours,
drained the pond, put the fish in a separate tank, there were 33, scrubbed out the pond, cleaned and trimmed plants, checked pump and left with it refilling, put treatment in.
It is lovely and clear. He said don't feed the fish till the weekend as they will be stressed.
He said he should come back in March to replace the UV. and clean if necessary.
I am very pleased with it, he did a great job.
I have taken photos but don't know how to transfer from tablet to this thread!

I'm glad you are pleased with the result Yolande. It can be hard work cleaning a pond and very messy too.
