Alpharooms

Anybody ever use these to book rooms online,and the punitive cancellation fees they charge if you pull out of the deal,I paid 1 euro to books a room in Madrid for 180 euros but if I cancelled they were going to charge me 90 Euros cancellation fee

I think usually the best deals are to be had by booking direct with the hotel, however, Booking.com is pretty good and I use them too. When booking a special value deal it's normal to pay up front and no refund on cancellation but I've never heard of having to pay a cancellation fee on top.
