Not for me.
Unfortunately the big companies like Thomson and others rule in Egypt with their luxury hotels and resorts. They have their own excursions which are much more expensive than if you use local people but tourists prefer to use them because they feel safer. We did try to use local services as much as possible when we were there but then we had to put up with those trying to hassle us into buying stuff; they also all have an Uncle that lives in Yorkshire?

Re: Tourists killed in Hurghada

Hi

Some uncomfortable facts.

You are more likely to be killed or seriously injured in the UK by terrorists this year than you are in Egypt.

Membership of the Muslim Brotherhood, a fanatical Radical Muslim Organisation, means imprisonment in Egypt, we give them asylum.

Terrorist suspects are detained indefinitely in Egypt.

In the UK, we can only hold them for 28 days, then they go free.

Re: Tourists killed in Hurghada

Having had a holiday in Hurghada at Easter this year and having ventured out of the hotel only once due to the excessively fanatic pressurizing of local shop owners for obvious desperate survival needs, coupled with the ridiculous but necessary security measures to gain access to the flight home, one cannot help but feel sorry for the poor peoples of that land who just want to trade in order that they gain a living from the proceeds of the affluent West.

Seems to me that the determine of the extreme factions is to force the entire population into poverty with unclear goals.
