It's not wrong, but to kill any seedlings your compost bin needs to reach some very high temperatures which are not possible in a lot of cases. Your bin will 'ferment' slower but still produce compost albeit with some viable seeds in the mix.Re: Peat Free Compost
We compost a lot from our garden but any perennial weeds or thorny plants we put in the council greenwaste bin. This waste is shredded and composted in huge quantities which is supposed to reach the very high temperatures required to sterilise the final product, but having said that I would only use it as a soil improver and not for potting plants or nurturing seedlings, which needs to be compost of a much finer texture and higher in fertility.Re: Peat Free Compost
