This afternoon while walking back to the car from the car boot, we saw on the path in front of us by the racecourse buildings a bird. Two other people were looking at it & I stopped & picked it up, it was tiny. My daughter took a pic of it in my hand & I walked across between the buildings & placed it on a bush next to the racecourse, it immediately scrambled inside it.
It didn't seem injured, just a bit dazed, so we thought it must have hit the buildings window.
There are a lot migrating now Tiffany, being reported by ringers in numbers.
Hi nom is there a link to a website for this info,I find the migration of these and all migrating birds fascinating, the Cuckoo being just one, some leave as early as the first week in June.
I did wonder Purwell after I told the couple who also spotted it on the path, before I picked it up, but I think it had too much yellow on it's chest.
I'll never know, but at least it didn't get stepped on putting it in the bush.
