Blimey Muddy and they can be really nasty.
Have a google when you get a minute.

Re: Toad of Longdogs Hall

My garden is full of frogs, froglets and toads.

The worst thing is when I go outside at night for my last cigarette and there's what looks like a big dollop of dung. Until it moves

I love seeing all the little tiny froglets leaping out of the way when I'm about but the frogs just sit there doing nowt. Don't save your babies from the giant will you, I think to myself

I am not sure, but I think he lived under the patio, but he hasn't turned up this year.

Do you think he's gone to your house for a change?

You perhaps don't remember, but several years ago I wrote about one of my dogs coming in from the garden late at night frothing and drooling like a rabid dog?
Frightened the life out of me. It was because she'd grabbed poor old Toady and he'd let that stuff out of his skin and it got all on her tongue. Had to give her milk quickly to antidote it.
I remember ringing the vet about midnight because her pupils went huge and she looked dreadful.

I slept with her that night, and she was OK next morning.
I saw Toady after that, so he was OK too.
I do remember that Mups. Frogs and toads secrete a sticky substance to ward off predators but I suppose your dog was large enough to cope with it.

Yes it's quite normal CeeCee, they can still be seen in September sometimes.
