Owls

At night I keep hearing what I think is an owl.

Remember when you put your thumbs together and blew into them to make the 'owl' noise? Well it sounds like that.
At first I wondered if it was kids messing about making the noise blowing through their thumbs.

I've tried to find an owl online that makes that noise but can't find it.

Could someone tell me which owl it is?

Nope ... that's a screech type noise, but thanks for trying.

Edited:

Just found another tawny owl on youtube, and it sounds different again. Definitely the sound I hear.

Re: Owls

I did hear about the owl that could not fly backwards, but he didn't give a hoot
