Do folks who abscond, from a Forum, do the Decent Thing?

I recently absconded from a forum of which I had been a member for many years. I think I did the "decent thing". I made no announcement that I was leaving, no recriminations, no response to the spite directed towards me. I did not flounce, just called it a day. Not too soon imo.

Depends on the forum, some I'd not leave without saying goodbye because it would worry some members, others I'd walk away no announcement.

Leaving can be best thing to do for your own mind but it can upset people who see you as a friend.

Initially, I might have a sneaky peek to see what's being said but after a while would just lose all interest. Of course there's always the option of being reborn.

Maybe what's being said is that there should be a kind of allegiance to OFF and posts made exclusively here ..and if you do post elsewhere, OFF should be left. Is that what is meant?

I'm a member of lots of forums but don't post prolifically on any. It that thought wrong? If so, why?

I did the same as you CeeCee, I just packed my bags and came here I stay in contact with just one lady from there we have lunch occasionally other than that I never go there. I'm not sure why really I just decided it was time for a change.

I left a forum after what I thought was an unkind remark from a member who i really respected. Have not been back since even to visit without logging in. I know I am a little too sensitive to how others treat me.

Nothing wrong with being a little sensitive usually makes people very nice people who don't hurt others I find. So embrace your sensitive natures ladies you are both better for it IMO
