You might get yourself out of that arm chair yourself there are some nice trikes about if you can't balance on a two wheeler.
I used to 'bike' to school and then work, used to get horribly wet, which may have contributed to the arthritis in my hips, knees and feet. Nowadays I'm quite comfortable sitting here (as you can see from the photos in my profile page) and relying on public transport when the need arises.
