Been back, they have knocked our row of houses down and built a police station on top of it, a fitting monument to a rebellious childhood, it looks grim, and it was but, the summers were always long, there was real snow in the winter and I was in the main a happy bunny.

Yes, I've been back but the lovely neat homes I remember are now student accommodation with wheely bins everywhere! Disappointing, I doubt I'll visit again.

No, I have never been back home, and my children do not have any one place to call "home". As Service brats, when asked where they come from they say "nowhere".

I think we were all tearaways in them days, we were never indoors, so we were out on the hills at the crack of sparrow fart till dusk. It seems idyllic now, we were all poor but we didn't know it because we were all in the same boat. It was the home of Nye Bevan, Neil Kinnock, Michael Foot, Ray Reardon. Bad company to grow up with

You can see many "old haunts" on Google Maps, without having to go there. I've looked up all the old family homes from the censuses, to see what's happened to the places where they used to live.
