I see this all on news. so glad the police can chase them now with or with out helmet.

I think that's what has made the whole thing spiral as the young ones doing this felt they were untouchable.

They still are.

The advantage of scooters is that they can go where cars cannot, and police bikes are not always as widely available.

I can see 'self defence' becoming more widely adopted. Not necessarily hand guns, but such things as hair spray which, of course, is perfectly legal to carry or, even better, hair spray and a cigarette lighter!

The best form of self defence is commonsense and awareness.

You simply would not have time to get out a can of hairspray and a lighter.

My wallet is on a chain, in my front pocket and cannot be snatched.

Personally I think that is the only way it can go. Not just this latest 'moped' craze but for all crime. I hate to say it but I think we are headed for oblivion, like one of those dark sci-fi movies.

A fourteen year-old boy has been arrested for a spate of moped based thefts. He was found to have thirteen mobile phones on him when he was arrested.

I wonder whether, IF he is sentenced, what that sentence may be.
