I agree this is really irritating, but I can kind of understand why people say it. When you speak the words quickly "have" does sound like "of". "He should've gone" for example.
There's no excuse for writing it incorrectly though.

I don't understand why the word Brexit seems to have turned into Bregzit. How difficult is it to pronounce a six letter word?

When I came back to the uk I was surprised to find that thank you had been replaced by Cheers !
I don't hate it or anything as language changes over time as I have commented before even the Queen doesn't talk like the Queen anymore !

I suppose I'm fairly tolerant of most of the words and phrases mentioned because I think language presentation and phrases are changing/evolving all the time.

Take any of us back a couple of hundred years and start speaking the way we do to the population and I'm sure our words and expressions would sound most weird to them. What is thought acceptable to us would probably be thought entirely poor language by them.

What people say and the way they say it is perhaps just part of language progression, just the same as it has been for centuries.

Absolutely! Instead of “yes”. I saw someone interviewed on TV recently and throughout he said “absolutely”, it drove me mad.
