No no! It's clearly around where I live in the South that's God's own country.
Joking aside, Yorkshire is nice. I've been there a good number of times. These were as a child to visit relatives who lived in Leeds (my Mother was born there). Also as an adult over a period of 20 years because we met some people from Yorkshire on holiday who we became good friends with. So good that we started travelling up the M1 to stay with them for a week or so every two years. On the years we didn't do that, they came to stay with us in the Hampshire/Berkshire/Surrey border area.
On our trips to see them, we'd visit Hull - Cleethorpes (the nearest coast) - a day at Withernsea - take a walk along the Pennine Way - take a trip to Sheffield (our daughter lives near there) ..just anywhere within striking distance.
When they were here we'd go To Guildford - Lots of south coast resorts - Winchester - Reading - Salisbury - Gunwharf Quays - RHS gardens at Wisley - Windsor. All sorts of places.
We both enjoyed each other's counties. There are some good places to visit in both. Gods own country though, is probably a good description of any place a person was born in or are happy to live.
Sadly, all the driving had to stop in the end and we both have to be content with God's own country applying to at least two places.
