Those modern songs.

When you're reminiscing the songs that you use to love in your younger years, listen and enjoy the songs of today , as these will be the songs your children/ grandchildren will be reminiscing when they are older.

Re: Those modern songs.

I'm not so sure. Music (and everything else) nowadays is much more disposable and isn't meant to last. In any case, longevity in art is mainly about quality (the appalling Jane Austen is the exception that proves the rule here). How many thousands of classical composers were there in the 17th and 18th Centuries? ...and how many do we actually remember? - a tiny handful of them. Even in 20th Century pop music we remember the Beatles and the Stones, but The Fourmost, Amen Corner, Stackridge, Bay City Rollers, The Big Three and thousands of others have vanished into history.

Re: Those modern songs.

My son and many of his peers are inclined to delve into their father's/mother's record/tape/CD collection due to the lack of contemporary "big Bands," especially Rock Bands. My; Cream, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, T Rex, The Smiths, Sex Pistols, Joy Division, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Diamond Head, Jimi Hendrix, Clash, Stranglers, Sonic Youth, Pixies, Radiohead collections are often borrowed and never returned! These bands get huge viewings on youtube by youth and are downloaded in huge numbers.

Have to say I love modern songs of today. I just love music. That's why I'm convinced my sons are true music lovers because of the music they heard whilst growing up. They love it all.

I love some modern music too. I'm in awe of anyone who can compose music and write words to go with it.

A woman of my own heart Myra. I love most types of music old and new. Love Ed Shearen, Sam Smith, Micheal Bub'le, Maroon 5. So many.

Re: Those modern songs.

I am a crazy music fan I love all kinds as long as I can understand it. Although I went to a wedding a month ago and the dj was total crap all I could hear was boom boom boom shocking headache for a few days afterwards and that is not a lie.
I am having a birthday party for her indoors in January her birthday and our anniversary.
I will make sure there will be no boom boom boom music and that every song played everyone will know the words to and can dance to.
The list is endless.
Now all I have to do is learn the words to Bob The Builder and Postman Pat..

Hey Mick how the hell did Bay City Rollers get into that list. It was said at the time that the group couldn't even play accord of music on their instruments and they were just a kiddies band.
The rest of the list are good though.
