And still they come pouring in............

Hungary has just closed its borders to anymore immigrants and is building a fence between itself and Serbia.

the solution is almost impossible to solve but the facts are simple:

people from war torn countries and countries of oppression are simple giving up all for a dangerous trip to what they see as the wealth and safety of European countries.

there is a seismic shift of the have nots to the have alls - in comparison - vast comparison the west is seen as stinking rich whilst Africa and the middle east poverty stricken - their countries cannot or will not solve the problems and so in desperation they come to us.

the UN is attempting to deal with it but Hungary has said NO MORE we have our quota.

sending them back from whence they came is no solution - accepting them will mean more may very well come.

the rich have become rich at the expense of the poor - the worm is turning

Re: And still they come pouring in............

It's a truly ghastly situation, a desperate crisis that isn't going away any time soon, or even ever.

Technology and instant communication, internet etc, has made the world a very small place.
Now people who live in grinding poverty and fear and terror can SEE what it's like on the other side where the grass is indeed greener.
What they're doing in their desperately dangerous journeys is probably exactly what we would do in their shoes.

What concerns me is that they are humans, the way politicians talk you wonder. And whereas most people had nothing but compassion a few years ago now there is fury. I worry that there will be murders and riots and all sorts of new horrors ahead. Where living conditions are so dire is a breeding ground for all kinds of crime...

Easy to become desensitised to their plight.

The situation in Hungary is cause for concern ..Refugees housed in some awful camps one of which is next door to a prison.. Inmates and prisoners chat and even children can be seen mixing with criminals.
http://www.migszol.com/hungarian-asylum-policy.html

Their right wing leader wants to bring back the death penalty and work camps and the wall is just the first in their plan to keep people out.

Other countries are also having problems last week in Holland 18 people were found hiding between tyres at the ferry port at hook of holland and the numbers are growing daily.. If they cant get in via France they will do it via Holland ..
Even Denmark which has quite strict laws has seen an increase in asylum seekers coming over their borders.

The problem is becoming a huge internationl concern.

It's the biggest problem since the Jews left Germany before the Nazis killed them all.

This should have been foreseen - as always took far too long for talks etc and now we have a right mess to contend with.
If they fear for their safety where they come from they certainly risk their lives getting out.
Now it will be other countries lives at risk including our own ............

The only answer is help them make their own countries safe, help them find what they need in their own lands. Not sure how that can be achieved but unless we try they will eventually overwhelm us.

Serbia is not a war torn country and they do not have a dangerous trip to get to Hungary.

Its just because Serbia is not part of the EU.

Heard on the news that Belgium has many asylum seekers that have been there for years ! The reason - they have no papers so were not granted asylum, so they stand around all day and sleep on the streets at night - ridiculous, why were they not returned back ?

Also heard of a country (Holland?) that are refusing then and are going to build a wall to keep them out - did anyone else hear this item ?

Just been looking at Mail Online where many, including some elderlies, are sleeping on posh doorsteps just across the road to Buckingham Palace. This begs the question...what did they expect to receive from us when they came over?!

when I hear someone say "the only answer is......." I know that there is always more than 'the only' and they haven't thought it through?
