Also to add to the above, it turns out you could greatly speed up your internet performance by changing your router channel. There are various channels and likely as not all your neighbours are using the same channels and thus their WiFi networks are all overlapping and competing or interfering with each other. By switching your router to a different channel you can use one that isn't being used much.

It is a Sony, but I've given up on resurrecting the internet on it; the Fire Stick is just so good at what it does.

I've had no problem with my internet - it was advertised as 17mb down and that's what I get.
