Television News

Do you watch the news on your TV?

I find that I'll only catch the last 10 minutes of it before watching the programme I really want to view. I'm not into shows like News Night, either.

Occasionally, I'll watch a documentary which is based on a news story if I find the news item interested me.

I don't even listen to news on the radio. In fact, quite often the first time I'll come across some news is if someone on here posts a thread about it.

Re: Television News

We watch the BBC news on TV, usually at lunchtime. I also listen to it on Radio 4.

Radio 4 is hard to beat. Commercial radio news is dire.

Re: Television News

I watch the BBC News and Channel 4. I also listen to Radio 4, but do prefer the BBC World Service news as that has so many other reports from around the world. We do tend to be very parochial with a lot of news broadcasts.

Yes, I like Euronews best as it has a greater range of items from all around the World. I especially like the No Comment bits and the Arts.

Re: Television News

I don't watch any news on TV but I do look at BBC news every morning on my phone before going into work. Also I don't need to watch the news as my 85 year old Dad gives me daily running commentary on the news when I visit him each day, we always end up bringing to world to rights, God Bless my fabulous Daddy.

Re: Television News

It used to be the first thing I would do every morning, watch the news and mostly catch up on what had been happening in American politics. These days I dont want to know about it anymore and avoid all news like the plague. In fact I joked with a friend asking her to let me know if Nuclear War started or the giant asteroid was about to hit Earth as I wouldnt know otherwise.
I think I had just overdosed on it all and it has lost all sense and meaning to me.

Re: Television News

The inability to change the news which is all the same is depressing. There seems to be hardly any good news reported.

Re: Television News

I was really fed up that the BBC TV lunchtime news spent almost 15 minutes discussing the flipping football match tonight, as its top story. There are so many other important things going on in this world, I don't consider a mere football match should be anymore than a very minor news story.
