I haven't had gooseberries for years but did plant a couple on the allotment this year.My best make with them was gooseberry champagne which was pale pink and wonderful. I gave my wine making book away, so must look out for another recipe for when I get enough fruit again.
As fore beetroots Caricature, ours this year are the best we have ever produced. I have already cooked for eating fresh and have a few good sized ones being prepared for making beetroot and chilli chutney. My favourite.

I only planted one row of 20 beans this year and planted early with a second back up lot if the frost got the first ones. All from one packet of beans
