Most things in my garden are looking extra good this year........perhaps due to the mild winter.

What do you do with your gooseberries?
I've not had them since I was a kid, and we had a big bush in the backyard. All I remember my mum making was a crumble with them.

Jackie I love gooseberries
I make a gooseberry and elderflower jelly/ fool/ pies/compote with custard and of course crumble.
They can be used as an accompaniment to savory things like mackerel to counteract the oiliness.

I remember liking them all right!
Oh, and with custard! The mouth's watering now!

I'd love to try growing a bush. I'll have to check out if they will survive our long frozen winter.
