Re: OFF slimming club---open to everyone.

I'm tired of even thinking about food right now. I might just starve myself today for the hell of it

Jut kidding, I don't know what I'm having today, I have nothing planned. I've been wanting to make some Asian lettuce wraps lately, but I haven't gotten around to the store for the ingredients. Not going grocery shopping until Friday.

Begs the question dieters, what is your standby food when you get the munchies.? You know healthy but not quick and easy, carrot sticks etc.

Better for you than crisps,or chocolate.

Mariana, Just to say! Apologies for not contributing to your thread lately but I finished Slimming World and was transferred to Weight Busters!
This 12 week course l find more realistic than the commercialised, glitzy over the top Slimming World!
I started three weeks ago and am nearly down to the weight l should be!
Last week, we looked at phials of fat from various foods that you would eat or purchase from fast food chains and we held a sachet type thing that contained a pound of typical body fat!
I have to say, the horror of this had more impact on me than Slimming World's commercialised glitzy twaddle!
Now, after losing the extra weight l had put on, l feel so well and have more energy!
I have never resorted to low fat foods as apparently they contain more sugar! I have still drank full fat milk, used butter but have cut it down dramatically! I eat a lot of strawberries as they are fat busters!
I still maintain you can lose weight without the expense of low fat foods and Slimming World expensive 'specialist foods' !!

When I get the munchies, but don't want to eat junk, I usually just grab a piece of ham and munch that and I'm fine. Or I'll chug a glass of lowfat milk. That takes the edge off my hunger. Those are quick and easy, yes, but I'm not looking to spend too much time making something if I'm just trying to kill the munchies until my next meal.

I think you may be right--I did something similar at my local health centre and lost 21 kilos--the biggest impact was , as yiu said, seeing just how much fat is in everything--we had it in bags--so could actually feel it--and I swore I would never ever eat a meat ipie again---especially ne brand that ive forgotten the name of--I know--its Pukka pies-and I cerainly have not done so since. but it was just for a limited period--maybe 12 weeks--I cannot remember--on the plus side--it was free---on the downside the nurse teaching us was bigger than any of us were !!

Well done to you. !!

My favuoite quick snack is always a ryvita crackerbread---19 calories--topped with cottage cheese and whatever fruit i have--eg grapes, satsuma, nectarine, kiwi--if I run out of cottage chese I will sometimes use light Philadelphia instead..

Re: OFF slimming club---open to everyone.

Today I'm eating delicious veggie pizza and salad. My boss sprang for lunch, so I'm currently stuffing my face with all this veggie goodness. Tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, green pepper, banana pepper and black olive. This place makes great pizza and what I love about them is they're one of the few pizza places around here that doesn't smother the pizza in 10 pounds of cheese.
