Re: My Own Personal Choice of Music.

The late Robert Palmer, very talented performer. I've liked most of his music, especially the bluesy stuff he did in Vinegar Joe with Elkie Brooks.
Some good soul music there too, Longfellow

To be expected Floydy after all he is a fellow Yorkshireman from Scarborough I believe.
Just up the road from Hull and down a ways from Middlesbrough.
Hey don't forget game on tonight at the Riverside.

I don't think I have ever seen any of his music in the Northern Soul compilations I have listened to in the past but I always thought he deserved a mention.

Palmer was from Batley I believe, or was it Scarborough? I get mixed up without looking!

Won't see the game as I'm at work bud, but may catch a replay or something.

Thing is with Northern Soul, it's a rather elite musical form and part of the craze apart from the frantic dancing was the record had to be very rare. I've seen some very obscure Motown discs such as early Temptations b-sides etc "allowed" to be classed as part of the genre, but not Marvin Gaye, although there will be some of the more hard to find Stateside singles out there somewhere. My favourite Norhern Soul song has got to be Dobie Gray's 'Out On The Floor', but I'll let you post that one as it's your thread bud

Jesus to a Child is my favourite George Michael song. It's a very tenderly sung record. Miss the bloke's songs a lot.

Yes the guy did good music no one can doubt that.
Its a pity he left early I believed he was gifted and there may well have been more great tunes if he had not gone to the drugs.
I am always amused at how some of these greats die alone, but once they have gone how the cretins crawl from the woodwork to fight over his estate. Where were they when he needed them.
Great showman loves the audiance.
