The ones that live in my coal bunker are usually black with red spots, the ones that live under the window sills at the front of the house are red with black spots. Never seen one in the house, never met a harlequin.Blue - you should not kill them - they are so useful in the garden keeping the aphids under control.

I introduced some laboratory raised ladybirds into my daughters aphid infested garden last summer and they WORKED. I hope they are stlll in the garden somewhere .................waiting.
