I'd go for a pale aqua. It's a very relaxing colour. As the room is sunny it won't be too cool and should go with the carpet.

I have that exact same colour on My Kitchen walls Annie...it goes well with the pale grey floor covering/and grey cooker/WM/DW.

It's a nice colour for a kitchen too. We have it in the upstairs hall. Gives a nice light and airy feel.

Log on to Google where you will find many room settings with different Colour schemes for all rooms including Lounges and some gray scheme too

Or just type on your Browser " Colour schemes for Lounges"

Re: Advice please on paint colour

Thank you all for your replies. Its certainly given me some ideas. I am thinking I need to do a makeover of the whole room now and replace carpet, blinds and buy a sofa before I paint. I don't really like the carpet so there's a start. I was originally just going to slosh some paint on the walls but I've only got two rooms to decorate the lounge and my bedroom and as I'm trying to make this my home I need to do it properly.
Thank you all again for the advice. ☺
