Re: The EU Will Collapse Without OUR Money!
Hi
An alternative view of the situation.
The EU Budget is funded in a number of ways, not just Member Contributions.
Another major source of funding are Customs duties from imports.
80% of these go direct to the EU, not to the Member State importing the goods.
Next year we are gue to pay a net contribution of £9.7 million.
If we leave with No Deal, our Exporters will be paying, at WTO Rates, £6.2 Billion.
This leaves the EU Budget down £3.5 Billion a year, not a massive amount out of a total Budget of £128 Billion.
Split between every EU Country, it is a few £100 million a year each.
Given that we are offering to pay around £40 Billion, they have over ten years to sort it out.
A No Deal scenario would mean no Services exports to the EU,
Services are our biggest export to the EU.
There is a timescale when the Banks and Insurance companies have to move to the EU to continue earning money.
They have to open branches there and get regulatory approval.
This takes time
It also means that they will be paying tax in the EU.
The EU have done their sums.
