Thanks everyone for all your comments. The Pacific diver was a great find, the first occurred in Yorkshire in 2007.

Its believed that because of Global warming a new migration route has developed from the Pacific coast wintering grounds, so perhaps some more arriving in the future..

Tiff key points for an ID are lack of white rump patch and the chinstrap.
