Potato salad.

I don't know what it is about that stuff, but despite several attempts, I just can't do it. It never turns out as good as grandma's. Even potato salad purchased at the grocery store deli is better than mine. It just never comes out right.

Oh Linda if the store stuff is better you really must be doing something wrong. It's important to get right potatoes though so you might just be sabotaging yourself with wrong ones ?

I've tried all varieties of potatoes, cooking them different ways, using different ingredients, etc etc etc. And I just can't make the stuff. It's like my body and mind says "NO NO NO. YOU CAN NOT AND WILL NOT EVER BE ABLE TO MAKE POTATO SALAD."

One of my local grocers makes the best Amish potato salad and another one of theirs called "Grandmas Potato Salad" and they're simply delish.

I had to look up what it is. Holy moly, I wouldn't go near it with a 10-foot pole

Oh Linda, Julie darlings, Kedgeree is fabulous. My Gran used to make it when I was kid in India with fish freshly caught from the sea. I think the fish she used was Galapia rather than Haddock.

It just doesn't sound good to me. For one thing, I can't stand anything curry. For another, I don't know, the fish and eggs combination kind of turns me off.

Do you eat egg fried rice as part of a chinese meal??? - not a lot of difference - honest and curry is lovely and warming. I spent seven months in India as an infant, my Gran used to make her own curries - phaal - which is the hottest you can get and here in the Indian Restaurants phaal is only served with a health warning.
