Re: Demonstrations in Iran

They are Persians not Arabs and speak Farsi not Arabic which makes then different from most ME countries .
I have known quite a few Iranians they are charming people -well the ones I have met are anyway .
I don't know that they have wonderful lives i doors or not most live here in the uk and seem to enjoy life here .
Iran used to be quite a modern country under the Shah .
I wonder if the Islamic revolution has run its course in Iran now .

I don't hold out much hope that this will resolve quickly or quietly. However, the ME can get on with their own lives from now on . Why the heck should we be even interested one tiny bit ? Just don't come knocking on our door, none of them.
Just what has worried me about it. They are encouraged to want regime change but what replaces it is often worse.

Re: Demonstrations in Iran

Do you not follow the news ? Over the past years the list of countries ruined by other powers that encourage them to protest.

If you aren't caught up with that I'm suddenly realising why you post as you do.

Re: Demonstrations in Iran

It's hardly worth making any posts on these continuously raised topics on the Middle East. There is only one purpose behind them, and in 9 posts out of 10 confrontation is the main objective.

We probably all know what the other peoples thoughts are by now, so there's little point in continuing to feed the habit.
