I thought him just wonderful.
When we were in Palm Springs a year or so ago we found his burial plot along with his Mother .
Very plain just a memorial in the ground.
Rest his soul.
Personally I never liked his style of singing, him and Andy Williams did nothing for me. I'd sooner have Perry Como and Dean Martin of that era.
One song of his ... just the one, makes me a fan of his. I Did It My Way.
It's wonderful.
But yes, like most people there was a darker side to him.
The good side overtook for me
Complex he was, emotional - very much so
No one puts across a song so well - I thank him for those wonderful songs he portrayed with such feeling ...............
Always a fan
I've also got that boxed set BC. My favourite is 'I've got you under my skin'.
Yes Alan, and I can understand why.
The thing is with Frank Sinatra is this.
He went into a studio with the likes of Nelson Riddle and just recorded the song with the top orchestras. Sometimes the song would be recorded more than once for a 'take' that was just right.
Nothing was added or taken away.
No echo, just the pure sound of that lovely music.
Unlike music made today whereby half the time there isn't a real musician to be heard.
They mess about with it, add stuff, take it away, add echo and even enhance the so called singer.
