Its just a picture not a link to "go" anywhere Alan...has anyone else had similar to Alan? I wouldnt have posted obviously if I had encountered anything malicious in the picture

It comes up as a tiny icon on the LH bottom corner but the 'Malicious' notice comes up before I even click on it.

It seems like a warning message from your computer - not related to the picture
Maybe do a scan now

Yes it does work, an oft used method, but on common water birds unnecessary. There are a lot of all the gear and no idea photographers out there these days who deem themselves wildlife photographers. They can do a lot of harm through their ignorance. Many wild creatures require a special license to be photographed especially at breeding areas.
