There are a lot of large termite nests in the trees around here but this was the first time I have seen lorikeets using one to nest in.

Living in a Small Caravan Park in Portland, it's amazing what you can see. Koala's, Kangaroos, Wallaby's, and some wonderful Bird's.
This Male Gang Gang let me get very close to it while it was eating the red berries from a tree.

These gregarious rainforest birds are found in the north east coastal areas of tropical Queensland in Australia as well as in New Guinea and the Moluccan and Solomon Islands.
From a distance they can appear just like another small black bird but in the right angle of sunlight it’s beautiful feathers are an array of iridescent purples and greens.
They are the only native starling to inhabit PNG and Australia and build quite unique globular woven nests that hang from the trees (other starlings are cavity nest builders).
